Robbins, written by acclaimed female writers, and voiced by Bollywood megastars – including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Freida Pinto, Parineeti Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Sushmita Sen, Nandita Das, and Alia Bhatt – Girl Rising proves that one girl with courage is a revolution.

Girl Rising in India

After a close consultation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in partnership with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Girl Rising film was launched in India as Woh Padhegi, Woh Udegi (She Learns, She Rises) in August 2015. The film had a national broadcast on Star Television and a reach of 6.1 million households.

Today, Girl Rising India is a registered non-profit whose mission is to use the power of storytelling to drive behavioral change for a more gender equitable world. Find out more about what Girl Rising India does here!

In 2018, Girl Rising India partnered with Global Health Strategies (GHS) to expand both organizations’ network, reach and impact. Headquartered in New York City, GHS uses advocacy and communication to improve health and well-being around the world, and firmly believes in enabling access to high-quality care for girls and women across the globe.
